Othesis (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Othesis service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: if you create an account, your email address and authentication credentials.
• Subscription and billing information: payment method details are handled by our payment processor; we receive only the information needed to manage your subscription.
• Service usage data: messages you send to the chat, the tickers and queries you research, settings you configure, and the visualizations or analyses you save.
• Cookies and similar technologies: small identifiers stored in your browser that keep you signed in and remember preferences.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Service
• Process payments and manage subscriptions
• Personalize your experience (e.g., remembering preferences you explicitly state)
• Communicate with you about your account, security, or significant changes
• Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents

We do not use your chat content to target advertising.

We share limited information with third-party service providers acting on our behalf, strictly to operate the Service. These include:

• Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers

• AI and language-model providers

• Payment processors
• Email and customer-support tooling
• Analytics, error monitoring, and security tooling

Each provider is contractually limited to using your information for the purpose of providing services to us. We do not authorize them to sell or independently use your information.

We retain account and service-usage information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see “Your Rights” below).

Backups and logs may persist for a limited period after deletion as part of standard operational practices, then are removed on their normal retention schedule. Information we are legally required to retain (e.g., financial records) is kept for the period required by applicable law.

California residents: You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of any “sale” (we do not sell personal information). You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

European Economic Area / UK residents: Our lawful bases for processing include contract performance (providing the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (operating and improving the Service, fraud prevention), legal obligations, and consent where applicable.

6. International Data Transfers

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

7. Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest where applicable. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or stored by us.
